Tabac Vert is not a cozy pipe tobacco. It’s sharper, drier, and infinitely more urbane. It’s the olfactory equivalent of a wood-paneled parlor, soft leather chairs, and a well-cut suit.

The opening is brisk with bergamot and cracked pepper, cutting into the green-bitter bite of tobacco absolute. Cedar and sandalwood form the backbone, anchored with oakmoss, amber, and a chypre structure built for longevity. Hints of rose, jasmine, and carnation add a faint, vintage polish.

I began the formula back in 2012 while working on Chypre-Siam. One of my experiments recalled the woody backbone of Carlo Corinto. That set me on a path of reimagining the bone-dry elegance of Derby, One Man Show, and Krizia Uomo. Over the next five years, I refined it, layer by layer, until tobacco, moss, and woods locked into perfect tension.

I don’t compromise on Tabac Vert’s raw materials. The tobacco absolute must have its warm, unprocessed edge. The oakmoss must have bite. The cedar must be clean and dry. If those aren’t available at the quality this fragrance demands, production pauses until I can source them.

Tabac Vert is for the gentleman who doesn’t need sweetness to make an impression; who knows that true elegance is never rushed.
