FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Have your fragrances ever been reformulated?

No. Every Rogue fragrance remains true to its original formula. While we’ve upgraded our bottles and packaging over the years, the scent itself has never changed.

Why does my new bottle smell slightly different than an old one? Why is the color not as dark?

It’s completely natural for a fragrance to evolve over time. Top notes can flatten, terpenes degrade, and aldehydes may form acetals or Schiff bases, especially in the presence of anthranilates. If your fragrance contains ingredients like vanillin, coumarin, or eugenol, the juice will darken. Indole turns deep red. These changes are the result of natural aging and chemistry, not reformulation.

Do you follow IFRA guidelines?

Mostly. EU regulations are far more strict and overreaching than IFRA recommendations. Since EU regulations do not apply to us here in the U.S., we do not aim to conform to them. That said, we also don’t haphazardly construct fragrances without regard for safety. We keep IFRA recommendations in mind during the creative process and refrain from using any known carcinogens or known endocrine disruptors.

Do you make different versions for your EU retailers?

No. Our EU retailers sell the exact same products we offer in the U.S. We do not create separate formulations to comply with EU regulations. They choose to stock our fragrances at their own risk.

Are you a “dupe” house?

No. We are not a dupe house and we do not make copies. Our fragrances are original creations that draw inspiration from the classics.

Are Rogue fragrances “beastmode”?

Not quite. We create rich, bold fragrances with character and depth, but we don’t chase trends or make “beastmode” our mission. If you’re looking for projection monsters, we might not be your brand.

Do you ship internationally?

Due to excessive red tape, we only ship within the United States. If you’re outside the U.S., please check our Retailers List for stockists near you.

Are your fragrances all natural?

No. Rogue fragrances are composed using both natural materials and aroma chemicals, just like classic perfumery. On rare occasions we release an all-natural fragrance, When we do, it will be clearly stated.

Do you test on animals?

Absolutely not. Rogue Perfumery does no animal testing. Ever.

Do you use animal-derived materials?

Yes, selectively. We use traditional animalic materials such as castoreum, beeswax, and butter CO₂. Occasionally, we may use civet absolute sourced from reputable suppliers. We do not use deer musk or ambergris, due to cost, sustainability, and consistency concerns.
